SLJ Week 1 Activity 1

Kia ora,
Today I did activity 1 on the SLJ. Here is my post.
For this activity, make a list of ten food items that you could take with you. Please think carefully about what you will take as you won’t have access to a refrigerator or freezer while at sea. Please explain why you would select each item.
On your blog, post your list of 10 food items you would take on an ocean voyage and the reasons why you chose these items.

  1. Kia ora Ronan! How are you doing today? It’s super rainy here in Auckland! I hope Northland is treating you better weatherwise!

Thank you for a great blog post! I love your creativity! You’ve included some awesome colours, which is fantastic as it makes your blog post really eye-catching. Ka pai!
I really appreciate the thought you’ve put in behind your reasons for taking food! Canned food and muesli bars sound like really useful choices! You sound like you’d be a great survivor!
I think coconut water sounds like a very refreshing option. Especially in the hot sun! I’ve never had it before, have you? Personally I think water would be a better option than alcohol, as I would want to stay hydrated, rather than dehydrated. What do you think? Other than that, fantastic effort!

Remember you can comment on other bloggers’ posts for extra points! Have a wonderful day.

    Ngā mihi,
    Olive

  2. Hi Olive, thank you for your comment.
Yes I have tried coconut water and it has a funny taste. I chose alcohol because it lasts a long time. So thank you for your option about how to dehydrates you. I have been commenting a lot on other peoples blog. How many points do you get for commenting?

    1. Hi Ronan, thank you for you lovely reply! I'm always super happy to hear from you! You get two points for each comment as long as it's thoughtful and a decent length. Hope that makes sense!
I'm just letting you know I've shown your simile blog post to my team because I thought your artwork and colours are amazing! I really hope we get to see more artwork from you! Do you like drawing, or painting? I prefer painting. I'm currently painting on a denim jacket for a Christmas present. I'm enjoying it so much!

Have a great day! It's still raining in Auckland!

    2. Hi Olive, thank you for your lovely reply! I'm always happy to hear from you because you always say positive things about my posts. I wish I could just hug you. I love art and am quite good at it. I love painting chickens and landscapes. Recently, I'v done a painting of a sunset.

    3. Hi Ronan, yay for art!

Thank you for your lovely comment! It made my and my team smile a lot! Hahah, chickens are super funny animals! I love painting fish, particularly the ugly ones! Recently I painted a Goliath grouper fish for my friend (on his jean pocket) as a present. Did you know that Goliath groupers only really eat other poisonous fish, such as stingray and catfish? Even though they have teeth, they swallow their prey whole!

I'm still learning about landscapes, but I'm excited to try them out!

I think you should take some photos of your artwork and include it in a blog post! I'd love to see it!

      Ngā mihi,
      Olive

  3. Hi Ronan
You are taking some great things with you on your journey. I did not think about putting canned food on my list. I did put cereal and potato chips though. I like how you have explained why you are taking your items.
