Creative Writing

Hi fellow bloggers.
For the past few week we have been writing creative stories. We got to choose what we wrote about. I chose to write an adventure story about my chicken, Sunset and Aira. The story is about a two chickens that go on an adventure and defeat obstacles.

Aira and Sunset’s Adventure

Loud howling. Dark gloomy night. Strange noises. Two chickens exploring. Sunset and Aira. The moon was full of haunted spirits. Suddenly the two chickens heard a sound. The sound was coming from behind a hedge. The hedge was shaking. They slowly crept over to the hedge.

At first the rustling was soft, then the sound gradually got louder and louder until two furry hands grabbed Sunset’s tail feathers. The hands came from the hedge. Sunset screeched to Aira, “It has got me.”

At first Aira thought she was joking but suddenly out of nowhere a wolf opened his mouth and was about to swallow Sunset’s head. When Aira realised what it was he flew into the air and with his spear he made one massive scar down the wolves face. Injured, the wolf retreated.

Sunset and Aira carried on exploring. They came to a jungle walking cautiously through it. The animal was fierce and hungry. He crept over to the two chickens. It was a tiger. The tiger growled fiercely so the two chickens started running. They  came to a dead end, this was the end... or was it? Sunset and Aira quickly came up with a plan. They jumped onto the tiger’s head and quickly flew up into a tree. The two flew from branch to branch and finally reached the end of jungle. They were safe. A few minutes later they came across a big fluffy something. They had never seen anything like this before. The creature hopped out of its burrow. The creature was a bunny! Sunset and Aira were curious about the bunny because they had never seen a bunny before. The bunny introduced himself.

“Hi fellows my name’s Peter,” yelled the bunny.

“What are your names?” Peter asked.

“Hi my name’s Sunset,” mumbled Sunset.

“And I’m Aira,” Aira said in a suspicious voice.

A few minutes later Sunset asked, “Do you know where we could sleep?”

Peter replied, “Sure you can sleep in my burrow, there is heaps of room.”

“Thanks,” Sunset replied. So Sunset and Aira slept in the bunny's burrow.  Aira was very worried about Sunset. The reason he was worried was because he didn’t trust Peter.  Aira thought that he was trying to brainwash Sunset so she would fall under his control.

The three closed their eyes and fell to sleep except one!... Aira!

Ski Trip

This Term we are going on the Ski Trip!
We are still fundraising but nearly there.
We are going to Mount Ruapehu. I am so excited for it I could almost explode.
We will be staying there for 5 days, yay!
Mount Ruapehu is next to two other mountains. We will be leaving in only 32 days!!

Matariki

Today it was Matariki! We were put into groups and sent to classrooms to complete activity relating to Matariki. I was put into a group. My group went to room 1. At room 1 our activity was to make a kite. First we had to get branches of bamboo and make a frame of what our kite will look like. Mine was a triangle. After making our frame we tied flax strips or string to connect the branches to each other. Finally we got a piece of paper or flax strips to weave. I chose the paper. After gluing the paper I got more glue and painted two strips of glue down the front of my kite. I then got the glitter and sprinkled it on my kite.

Today Mrs Ritchie told us about what we can share and what we can't share online.
After out lesson we had to make a presentation about what we and can't share online.

Waitangi Experince

Last week we went to Waitangi to learn about the history of the Ohaeawai and the weapons. There was a lot of technology. We were allowed to play on the technology.

We then made a presentation about our experience.

Speech

On my birthday the 20th of June is the Rotary Speech competiton. The Speech competiton is when you write a speech and say it to in front of your class then you get voted, then you read it to the school, then you get voted. Then you go to the finals and read it to sooo many people.

How cars can harm the world

Did you know cars can pollute the world?

Cars are inventions that have an exhaust that releases harmful gases and fumes into our atmosphere. I believe we should stop unnecessary driving and only drive when we really need to. Do you know why I think this? Well...

Firstly, cars can pollute the environment. 13% of carbon dioxide comes from vehicles. Cars are disgusting, despicable and dirty things. Carbon dioxide and oxygen is what we humans breathe in. There is too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere that it is acting like a blanket trapping other heat in and not letting fresh air out. Antarctica is now getting destroyed because of the heat getting trapped in. The heat is like a heat wave that is melting the ice, soon it will be no more than water. The animals living in Antarctica will die and then when you have kids they will not be able to see some of those magnificent creatures. The heat may even travel to the North pole and melt the North pole then, no more Christmas. With all the cars and trucks in the world maybe the whole world will heat up and then humans and animals could die!! So you need to start thinking about the type of car  you drive - is it clean and safe for the world and environment?

Secondly, cars can drip oil. I believe oil is slimy, evil and smelly. The oil could get washed into the environment when it rains. Trees need water right, so the trees might mistakenly suck up the oil thinking it’s water. I would not want to be that tree. The tree may then loose leaves and, and, and, die! Imagine if you were that tree and you drank the oil and you lost your leaves, and you may die. The poor tree did nothing wrong.. it was you!! If we keep dripping oil soon every single tree could die. Then if trees die we won’t have clean oxygen to breathe and then we could even die. Also oil could get into drains. The oil can then flow out into the ocean which can kill the animals and it’s because of you!

Finally, cars make noise pollution. Cars are noisy, right? In the city cars can make loud noises that can hurt animals and humans ears. Some animals may be living in the city. Car horns are nasty, noisy and no good. Those horns seem really bad!! In the city there are traffic jams. Traffic jams make some people frustrated so they beep the horn that puts out a very loud noise. This noise could make an animal suddenly go blagh blagh! Or even worse... din din din. Do you want me to tell you the even worse thing! Ok then the even worse thing is it could die of shock from the loud ear breaking noise. Poor, poor animal. If cars are on ferries with people, the people could get really really impatient so they beep the horn. The horn could scare sea creatures like dolphins into the harbour then, then they will be scared and no longer come into the harbour.

Now after listening to my reasons, do you agree that we should stop driving because cars release fumes, drip oil and make loud noises?  I believe that we should stop driving and only drive when it’s an emergency. So now you must and should start thinking about what your car is doing to our world!

Lego story and stop motion

Last week on Thursday and Friday we could choose what we wanted to do. The options were lego stop motion, writing or pick a picture to write about. Louisa, Sara and I chose lego stop motion. First we built our scenes then we took photos for a story and lastly we made a stop motion.
