Leaf Writing

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday, Miss Fletcher came into our class to fill in for Mrs B. She took us outside to observe the changing of green leaves to red, orange, yellow and brown leaves. After looking at the leaves we walked back to class and started to write about what we saw. We were doing creative writing, so we got to choose what writing style we wanted. E.g Acrostic poem, poem, song or just a piece of writing. I chose to do a simple piece of writing. My favourite part was being able to choose what we type of writing style we got to write with. The learning behind this was to observe something and write about it to describe it.

Gif Making

Hello everyone,

  • For the last couple of weeks, we have been making GIFS with a lady called Deborah.
  • First we had to make a slide showing something about cyber smart.
  • Then, we had to use a site called Tall Tweets and insert our slide.
  • After that, we coded how fast we wanted our GIF and how many pixels.
  • After that, we clicked create GIF and our slide turned into a GIF.
  • My favourite part was creating the slide.
  • The hardest part was figuring out how to create it as a GIF.
  • The learning behind this task was to know how to be cyber smart.

Here is my GIF:

Earthquakes Create Task

Kia ora,

For weeks 3, 4 and 5, we have been learning about Earthquakes. We had to choose a task out of a:

  • Timeline and venn diagram,
  • Birds eye view,
  • fault lines and a
  • Reporter activity.
I chose do use the venn diagram and timeline to share my knowledge about earthquakes. For the task we had to figure out which earthquakes occurred earliest in time and most recently and create a timeline. Part 2 was to chose 2 of those earthquakes and create a venn diagram. The hardest part was finding information for one of the earthquakes because it was so long ago. I found if exciting to see what magnitude some of the earthquakes were. The learning behind this was to find out about earthquakes and what they do.

Myths

Kia ora,

For the last couple of weeks we have been writing myths. We had to explain why a natural phenomenon happens in the world. I chose rain. It was about a god who gets bullied so he cries which is rain. Then, a another god comes and saves him and the rain stops. My favourite part was making up my problem for my myth. The hardest part was finding a solution for my problem. The learning behind this was to learn how to write a myth and the structure of a myth.
Here is my myth:
