For the last few weeks our focus for maths has been Geometry. We got to choose geometry tasks to complete. I created a google slide with my geometry things on it.

PAT/Star tests T4

Hello fellow bloggers,
Yesterday we did a PAT maths test to see if we have learnt anything from the beginning of the year. In T1 I got 26/35 and in T4 I got 33/35. I am very happy that I have improved. The two questions I got wrong were: interpret a pictograph where each unit stands for 2 horses and Reflect a shape in a horizontal mirror line.

Star test

Hi blogger's,
Here are the results of my Star Reading test. At the beginning of the year I scored 39/50. This week I scored 46/50. I improved by 7 marks. My score means I did well above average. I improved the most in the cloze test.

Next year I need to work on: Which words mean the same.

Coding/Maze Making

Today we did coding. We made a maze and coded something get from one place to another. We had to make the code for the person to get from one place to the other place.

Today we created comic strips for reading. We read the book The Legend of Rock, Paper, Scissors. We then made our own comic strips. We had to choose two different things in the classroom to write about or two characters from the book. Here is my Comic strip:

Explanation writing

Hello fellow bloggers, 
Yesterday we wrote end of year explanation writing. We had to write an explanation about an environmental problem. I think I did better this time because I had better spelling and punctuation. Here are my explanations:

Environmental Problems

The environment is our surroundings. These include plants and animals. Problem means an error or
something that went wrong. Today I will be telling about plastic and you can make a big difference in
our environment. Plastic is a material that can be molded into a shape or bag.

Firstly, when we throw away our plastic bags they blow into the sea and kill marine life. What we can do
is actual reuse the plastic by making it into something else. What people do is the get the plastic and they
melt it and make it into something else. Then we would be doing wiser things with our plastic. If we don’t
do this to all our plastic it’s going to end up in the ocean and animals in the water would be dead
everywhere and that’s not good for the planet.

Secondly, we need to cut down on plastic packing. When we go shopping basically everything is put into
plastic containers. Instead of using plastic containers we should use pods. With a pods they still use
plastic but you can reuse them over and over again. If we don’t do this there will be plastic flying
everywhere and that would clutter up our environment.

Finally, use reusable bags. Instead of using plastic bags use reusable bags. If we use reusable bags for
our shopping we wouldn’t have to use plastic bags. Plastic bags can only really be used twice because
they rip so easily. Once they get ripped we throw them away and the plastic gets dumped in the  dump
yard. It will then get blown straight into our rivers killing animals. But if we use reusable bags that wouldn’t
happen because we can use them over and over again.

Plastic can be a bad problem. I hope after reading my explanation you have learnt something that you
can do to help save our amazing environment. Without it the world wouldn’t be completed.

This is my T1 explanation: We had to write about what makes a good friend.

What makes a good friend?

Have you ever wondered what makes a good friend? Good means that you are  well at something.
Friend means that you are a besty with someone.

Firstly, are you lonely well ask something to be your friend. If you don’t have friends ask something nice
and caring to be you friend. If you are nerves you can go to a caregiver or teacher to help ask the person.
Then ask the person, would you like to be my friend, and if they say yes you have a friend. If you want
you can go around asking other people to be your friend.

(But make sure they are trustworthy.)

Secondly , If you want to be a good friend you need to be caring for one and other. For example if your
best friend is hurt and you are there with them help take care of them. Bring your friend to a caregiver or
teacher. Then hopefully the caregiver or teacher will take them to the medical room.

Finally, If you want to be a good friend you might want to suggest new game to your friend.

If you are tired of playing the same game then suggest a new game. If your friend says no, well you are
just going to go with the same old game.

Being a friend is great fun because you can count on them and you can never be bored. It is great fun to
have more than one friend because if your friend is not at school you will have other friends to play with.
