Pet Day

Today is Pet Day. I made a Vaseline saucer. I made my Vaseline saucer out of red, pink and purple petals. I also used small green leaves as well. Some of the Vaseline saucers are going to the Waimate North Show. For Pet Day I bought two button quail, one is a male and the other is a male.  They got third place.
Later in the day we did an animal parade. I walked my quails inside the ring with other birds. My quails names are Quirky and Loretta.   Here is my Vaseline saucer.

Swim Safe

Tracey from water safe told us the 5 rules to keep safe in the water. The 5 rules were Never swim alone, Check the weather, Your safety first, If in doubt - stay out and the last rule was Tell someone where you are going.

Garden to Table

This term we are doing Garden to Table. We have done it for two weeks. I was in the kitchen for the first week and I was in the garden for the second week. For the people in the kitchen they have to cook food for the people in the garden. There are two sessions, one in the morning and one after play. I was in the one after play for both weeks. We cooked herb scones, salad, veges sticks that were celery and carrots. We also cooked baguette, bread and dips. Our dips were guacamole and hummus. The second week I was in the garden but it was raining so I planted seeds in little pots so they can grow to became big plants for the kitchen people to use for the food. I am in the red radishes and inside of the red radishes are 3 little groups. We got to choose our group name my group name is the Cooking and Garden stars. A bunch of peanuts

This week I read a story called A Bunch of Peanuts. I made a diagram to show the process of harvesting them.

Hot Air Balloon Art

For art we created Hot Air Balloons.  We used pastel for the background. We used dye and black PVA glue for the balloon. We weaved the basket. My favourite part was the black PVA.
