Tinana Shield

Kia ora,

On Tuesday, Kaikohe East came to compete with us for the Tinana Shield.  We chose to play soccer and netball. We only had to win the soccer game to keep the shield.  Sadly, we lost the netball game. The score was 0 - 12. Next, we were on. The game began. Their defences were good. But we still won. Lawrence scored us our goals. The end score was 2 - 0.  Kaikohe East did a haka at the end of the game and then we did our haka back. My favourite part was playing in the game. The hardest part was getting past the defences.  The main goal for this game was to keep the Tinana Shield.

Comparing Good and Evil Characters

Kia ora,

This week, we have been comparing characters. We read text about Cinderella, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty and Little Red Riding Hood.  We put the information we found about the princesses into a matrix. We had to find their personality, physical appearance clothing. After that, we compared the princesses in a venn diagram. We did that to the evil people in the stories. Next, we wrote what we noticed about the evil and good characters. My favourite part was filling out the matrix. The hardest part was finding the personality of Mother Gothel. The learning behind this was making comparisons of evil and good characters.

Forces and Motion

Hello everyone,

For the last few weeks, we have been learning about forces and motion. We read text about forces and motion. Next, we created a DLO about our understanding of forces motion. We had to find the key information in the text. The easiest part was reading the text and the difficult part was finding some of the information in the text. The learning behind this was to learn about forces and motion.

The Kinds of Motion

Hello everyone,

For the last month, we have been learning about motion. First, we had to read a text about the two kinds of motion. After that, we had to make a DLO about the two kinds of motion. Then, we had to find the definition of the two kinds of motion. I learnt that the two kinds of motion are, locomotion and non-locomotion. I found it easy to understand the two kinds of motion.  I found it difficult to  write examples of non - locomotion and locomotion. The learning behind this task was to learn about the two kinds of motion.

Comparing Good Characters

Kia ora,

This week, we are learning about the ways writers describe good characters in their stories. We had to read several texts and then create a Comparison Matrix to show how the Clothing, Personalities and Physical Appearance of the good characters were similar.
The hard part was: finding words to describe the clothing of the princesses because the writers didn't say much about the clothes.
The easy part was: finding the personalities about the characters.
