Like similes and as similes and than similes

We have been learning about similes. We matched these pictures to make like and as similes.
We change our like similes into as similes and as similes into than similes  by making a copy of our like simile document.
Here is my as simile document.
An owl's eye is as round as a plate.
An elephant's trunk is as long as a girls hair swaying in the breeze of the wind.
A flagpole is as tall as a tree trunk.
A soldier is as strong as a lion.
An overflowing rubbish pile is as stinky as a sock.

Here is my like simile document.
An owl's eye is round like a plate.
An elephant's trunk is long like a girl's hair swaying in the breeze of the wind.
A flagpole is tall like a tree trunk.
A soldier is strong like a lion.
An overflowed rubbish pile is stinky like a sock.

Here are my than similes.

An owls eye is rounder than a plate.
An elephants trunk is  longer than a girls hair swaying in the breeze of the wind.
A flagpole is taller than a tree trunk.
A soldier is stronger than a lion.
An overflowing rubbish pile is stinkier than a sock.

Maths Graphs

We have been learning about graphs. I used the information from this sheet of paper and made a graph showing the number of books read by students in year 5.

My Graph shows that Naomi read the most book of the 6.
Ned read the least of the 6, he read 22 books.
If all 6 students add their books that they read together they would have 188 books.

We also created a line graph to show the temperature over the week.
This Graph shows that Friday is the hotest day of the week.
Thursday is coldest day of the week in my graph.
Monday and Wednesday are the same temperature.
